We offer Suzuki lessons in violin, viola and classical guitar, and accept new students with or without experience. If you are unsure of which instrument you would like to learn, please contact us. Learning to play an instrument with an SAA-Trained Registered Suzuki Instructor as your guide is a deeply rewarding experience. We look forward to meeting you!
Register for 2025-2026 We are currently accepting violin, viola and classical guitar students for 2025-26, and will continue registration until our teachers' schedules are full.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register for lessons? Please attach and email your completed Registration Form to [email protected]. We will review your form and offer you a time in the schedule. If the time is acceptable to you, payment is due at that time following the instructions on the Registration Form.
How much are the fees? These are listed on the Registration Form, and are slightly different for violin, viola and guitar.
What forms of payment do your teachers accept for lessons? Our teachers accept one-time e-transfers and monthly post-dated cheques. Lesson fees are payable directly to the teachers.
Are there any other fees involved besides lesson fees? Yes, there is a School Fee of $200 per student per year. This fee is payable to the Huntsville Suzuki School either by cheque or e-transfer to [email protected].
Do students have to have their own instruments? Yes, each student needs his or her own instrument. The Huntsville Suzuki School owns a number of instruments in all sizes, and these rent for $20/month. You can also rent or buy instruments from Bravura House (https://bravurahouse.com/, an excellent violin dealer and repairer in Barrie), The Sound Post (https://www.thesoundpost.com/,a full-service store in downtown Toronto which specializes in stringed instruments), and Long and McQuade (a large Canadian chain of music stores, https://www.long-mcquade.com/).
When do private lessons take place? Private lessons are taught Monday to Friday, starting at 10:00am and ending around 6:30pm. It is preferable to schedule younger children at their best time for concentration, usually earlier in the day. When do Group Lessons and Ensemble take place? Normally, group play-ins and ensemble are held every other Thursday evening at the Suzuki School approximately 15 times a year, from September through June. (If there are not enough viola students to form a group, violists are integrated into an ensemble playing whenever possible. Guitar students have their own groups.)
Do you give concerts? Yes! All students participate in recitals and large group concerts involving the entire School several times a year. We generally play as large group ensembles. Our concerts are legendary!
Can I take group lessons only? No, Group Lessons are social musical events that are add-ons for students taking private lessons from one of our teachers. The group lessons are very popular and are an important part of Suzuki music lessons. At Group you get to meet the other students in the School and play together. Who can I contact for more information? For more information, please use our contact form, or call us at (705) 788-0027.
